Tyco and SPACECODE Form Alliance for RFID Technology

Tyco Electronics and SPACECODE, a leading developer of radio frequency identification (RFID) technologies, today announced a co-development agreement for RFID technology.

Tyco and SPACECODE will continue to evolve their offerings to include the most innovative and cost effective RFID solutions available. Today, many companies are piloting RFID technology on an item level case to improve the efficiency of processing goods throughout the entire supply chain through to the front store. With RFID readers that automatically identify product movement in real-time, companies improve the accuracy and integrity of data transfer, efficiency and reduced labor cost , and enhanced sales due to increased rapidity of route to final consumer.

"As RFID becomes more ubiquitous to eventually cover the entire supply chain of companies and industries, it is critical that we keep pace by enabling the most advanced and proven RFID technology use for our customers," said Francois Arnoul of Tyco. SPACECODE’s RFID portfolio is a great complement to Tyco’s portfolio and has the potential to be integrated with multiple devices and applications in the portfolio"

"By forming an alliance with Tyco, we offer a powerful combination of global IT industrialisation expertise of Tyco with SPACECODE’s unrivalled RFID product development leadership," said Pavlo Protopapa CEO of SPACECODE.

The broad collaboration covers all components of typical RFID systems including tags, readers, and printers.
